Why We Cannot Offer Refunds After a Completed Photo Session
At Moments in Time Photography Studio, we pride ourselves on being a full-service photography studio offering a wide range of professional services, from graduation portraits and family sessions to corporate headshots, creative shoots, and more. Each client experience is personalized and carefully crafted to meet your individual needs and expectations.
Because of the custom and time-intensive nature of our work, we are unable to offer refunds once a photo session has been completed. We want to explain why this policy exists and how it ensures fairness, professionalism, and the highest standard of service for every client.
1. Photography Is a Custom, Time-Based Service
Unlike a product that can be returned, photography is a one-time, personalized service. Each photo session is uniquely planned and executed based on the specific client’s requests—whether it’s a graduation, engagement, maternity shoot, family portrait, or business branding session.
Once the session is complete, our time, creative energy, and studio resources have already been invested. These services cannot be undone, redone, or resold. Even if you decide not to order any images after the session, the time spent preparing, shooting, and editing your images has already been dedicated entirely to your experience.
2. You’re Paying for More Than Just Photos
Your session fee includes much more than just the final images. It covers:
A professionally guided experience from start to finish
Pre-session consultation and planning
Use of our studio space, lighting, and specialized equipment
Access to props, sets, backdrops, or wardrobe (such as gowns and hoods)
The photographer’s time, creativity, and technical expertise
Post-session editing and retouching of images
Secure proofing gallery for selecting your favorites
This is a comprehensive service—crafted specifically for you. Once it has been delivered, a refund would not reflect the work already completed on your behalf.
3. Time Reserved Just for You
When you book a session with our studio, we reserve a time slot exclusively for you. That time cannot be offered to anyone else, and in many cases, we turn away other inquiries to ensure we honor your appointment. The same goes for our editing queue and delivery schedule—we invest both in-studio and post-production time to give each client the attention they deserve.
Allowing refunds after sessions would undermine this structure and prevent us from maintaining the quality and reliability that our clients have come to expect.
4. Proofs Provided Before Final Orders
We understand that clients want to love their images, which is why we provide proofs after each session before any final prints or digital files are delivered. This gives you the opportunity to review your images and select the ones you love most. If there’s something that needs adjusting—whether it’s editing style, lighting, or posing—we encourage you to let us know. We’re happy to work with you to ensure your final photos meet your expectations.
