A Boutique Experience in Halifax
The environment matters as much as the equipment. Our climate-controlled studio is designed with comfort in mind, with a private dressing area for outfit changes and a viewing station where you can see the magic come to life.
Our children’s portraits sessions take place in our private studio at 51 Crozier Court, and we welcome families from across the Halifax Regional Municipality, including Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville, Cole Harbour and Hammonds Plains. You can get directions on Google Maps before your visit.
Whether you are planning a first portrait, a milestone session or an updated set of family photos, our children’s portraits are designed around your child’s pace. We keep sessions relaxed, photograph the little moments between the poses, and choose backdrops and props that suit your child’s age. If you are looking for children’s portraits in Halifax that feel natural rather than staged, our private studio gives your child room to play while we capture the personality you know best.
Why Choose Moments in Time for Children’s Portraits?
Patient, Play-Based Sessions
We never rush. If your child needs a few minutes to warm up, we are happy to wait for that genuine smile.
Props Scaled for Children
By focusing on children who can sit and stand, we have curated props perfectly scaled for toddlers and young children.
Parents Welcome in Frame
We encourage parents to step into a few shots. The bond between parent and child makes the most powerful portraits.
Preparing for Your Children’s Portraits Session
Nap Time
Schedule your session right after a nap for a happy, energetic child.
Full Tummies
A quick snack before arrival prevents “hangry” moments during the shoot.
Clothing
Please bring your own outfits, as we do not supply clothing. Solid colours and subtle textures work best. Avoid large logos or busy patterns.
Children’s Portrait FAQ
What ages do you photograph in your children's portraits?
Our children's sessions are designed for children who can sit and stand on their own, from toddlers through older children. For babies, see our newborn and cake smash sessions.
How long is a children's portrait session?
Every children's collection includes a one-hour private studio session. We never rush, because some children need a few minutes to warm up to the studio.
What should my child wear?
Please bring your own outfits, as we do not supply clothing. Solid colours and subtle textures work best. Avoid large logos and distracting patterns. Our studio has a private dressing area if you would like an outfit change.
How do I get the best results with a young child?
Book right after a nap, offer a quick snack before you arrive, and aim to get here five minutes early so your child can get comfortable with the studio.
Can parents be in the photos?
Yes. Portraits are most powerful when they show the bond between parent and child, and we always encourage parents to step into the frame for a few shots.
Do you offer digital files?
Yes. The Tiny Treasures and Little Moments collections include digital files for web use. Print collections are also available, and custom options can be arranged.
