Recently, we had the absolute pleasure of photographing Awak — a proud Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate from Dalhousie University. First, we started with classic cap-and-gown shots using Dal’s authentic black gown and white hood (with blue trim) that we keep permanently in studio. Next, we moved outside to the beautiful Dalhousie campus locations so she could celebrate exactly where her journey happened. Can I bring family or friends?
Absolutely — you’re more than welcome to bring parents, siblings, partners or friends for moral support! They are not automatically included in the photos unless you request it. If you do want them in a few shots, just let us know in advance and coordinate outfits (solid, neutral colours work best). Pets are also welcome — just give us a heads-up so we can prepare treats and a lint roller!
What should I wear under my gown?
Dress like you’re going to a job interview you really want to ace! Gentlemen: dark suit or dress shirt, tie, dress shoes. Ladies: dress, skirt/blouse or pantsuit in solid colours. Avoid busy patterns, neon, or large logos — you want the focus on your face and smile. Simple jewelry is perfect; bring options if you’re unsure.
How long is a typical session?
Most sessions run 15–60 minutes depending on your package and how many outfit/pose changes you’d like. Coming prepared (hair/makeup done, outfits steamed, accessories organized) lets us maximize every minute and get you the biggest variety.
How many photos will I get to choose from?
We usually shoot hundreds of frames, but we only the very best make the cut. You’ll receive a private online gallery with 30–80+ fully edited, high-resolution images (depending on your package) — all hand-picked for perfect expression, lighting, and posture. Quality over quantity, always.
